Hi, welcome to Simple Steps a blog about following Jesus. There is a great deal that is involved with having Jesus as your Leader. Jesus has a way getting inside people and affecting every aspect of life. That gives us something to talk about. I intend to be positive, practical, and personal in helping us navigate life and how to live as a Jesus Follower.

Today we will be starting with, and yes, I know it isn’t the usual starting point for a blog, sharing our faith in Jesus with others. (My day job is serving on staff at Greenwood Christian Church as the outreach minister, so give me a break).

I believe every person who is a follower of Jesus wants to spread His love to those around them. Most of the time we do it through kind actions and words. Not as often, we share the Gospel with individuals as an answer to a question. Rarely do we start a conversation of the most important message ever.

There are many reasons for our hesitancy. Fear of public speaking, the anxiety of what other might think, and a lack of confidence in our ability as communicators are the ones I hear most often. (They are also the ones I experience the most). No one who has experienced Jesus’ life-changing power wants anyone else to have to live without it. It is just how do I overcome the obstacles that keep me from telling it? The next few blogs will help us take the next simple steps to sharing our faith.
